Well, it finally happened. My Acer Aspire finally crashed for good yesterday. I had been having difficulties with it for the last few months. Fortunately, I keep regular backups of all of my documents on my web server, which actually made the transition a lot easier.
I went to the Apple Store in Danbury yesterday afternoon and picked up a 15″ Macbook Pro and I’m up and running already.
There really isn’t much of a learning curve to do the basic day to day things. I’m sure they’ll be a lot of little things to learn later on. The OS on this feels a little like a cross between Linux and Windows. Maybe Linux on steroids. It should since it’s based on BSD.
In any event, it feels like a pleasant change.
